Windhoek (fs/sb) • Volcanic, der Bulle der Familie Metzger aus ihrer Kamab-Simbra-Zucht, wurde auf der Windhoeker Messe zum Standard Bank „Champion of Champions” gekürt. Der Direktor für landwirtschaftliche Angelegenheiten der Standard Bank, Gerhard Mukuahima, überreichte die Trophäe an Katja Metzger.

Die Landwirtschaftsausstellung, organisiert von der „Windhoek Show Society” (WSS: Ausstellungsverein), läuft bis zum 5. Oktober auf dem Windhoeker Messegelände in der Bellstraße. Neben den Vieh- und Zuchtwettbewerben, bei denen Farmer ihre besten Tiere und Erzeugnisse präsentieren, gibt es täglich Vorführungen moderner landwirtschaftlicher Technologie und nachhaltigen Anbaumethoden.

An dem Veranstaltungsort gibt es täglich Auftritte von Live-Künstlern von 18.00 bis 21.00 Uhr, einen Oktoberfest-Stand und natürlich den beliebten Karussell-/Vergnügungspark. Heute findet auch die jährliche Feuerwerk nach Sonnenuntergang statt.

Eintrittspreise sind wie folgt: 50 N$ für Erwachsene und 30 N$ für Schüler und Kinder zwischen sechs und 18 Jahren. Kinder unter sechs und Senioren über 60 Jahren haben freien Eintritt. Saisonkarten, die mehrere Eintritte erlauben, sind für 115 N$ erhältlich. Die Öffnungszeiten sind täglich von 10.00 bis 21.00 Uhr.
