#JustIn: SBN Holdings appoints acting chief
Locally-listed SBN Holdings, with Standard Bank Namibia as its flagship brand, has appointed Nelson Lucas as its acting chief executive, effective immediately for a period of six months.
Lucas will take over from Mercia Geises, who resigned as chief executive earlier this month to pursue other personal and professional interests. Her resignation becomes effective on 1 August.
In a statement today on the Namibian Stock Exchange (NSX), SBN Holdings said Lucas’ appointment was made in order to ensure an orderly transition and sufficient time for the re-assignment of responsibilities.
Lucas is currently the head of corporate and investment banking of SBN Holdings and has extensive expertise in auditing of financial institutions, consulting in business advisory, VAT and transfer pricing.
He is passionate about people development, adding value to businesses/corporations, as well as investments in the equity and debt capital markets, SBN Holdings said.
