For a hands-on property development experience
Demushuwa Property Developers
Homes and retail spaces for all
Demushuwa Property Developers was established in the late 2000s with the acquisition of the Hilltop Estate by the family business of the De Azevedo brothers, who to this day, collectively remain the controlling shareholders of the company.
The property developer stationed in Windhoek specialises in the development, sale and leasing of commercial property, primarily within the commercial hub known as the Hilltop Estate which incorporates The Grove Mall and its surroundings.
To date, Demushuwa has either individually or in conjunction with others, been involved with the development of Lady Pohamba Private Hospital and its extensions, The Grove Mall, Virgin Active Kleine Kuppe, Town Lodge, Wild Olive Apartments, LPPH Suites West, Demushuwa Suites, Hilltop Village and MegaCentre.
Safe for industrial use, these developments cover the entire commercial property spectrum and comprise medical, retail, hospitality, offices and recreational uses.
The company prides itself in its boldness and hands-on approach to property.
More than an investment
“We see our developments as more than merely an investment and a figure on a piece of paper, but rather as a personification of our brand and what we stand for,” says Nicol Langford, General Manager of Demushuwa Property Developers.
The business operates on the standard that if something is worth doing, it is worth doing well. Consequently, adding such value in the long-term takes precedence over short-term gains as they typically remain involved in developments long after completion of the project and see the value in adding that “special touch” to a project instead of merely doing it in the most cost-effective manner possible.
A highlight for the company would certainly be the success of one of its subsidiaries, Lady Pohamba Private Hospital which has, with the assistance and input of various stakeholders, grown to become the largest private hospital in the country and a truly Namibian success story.
Additionally, there has been a progression for some time on a new building for the Steps Development, which will house the head office of one of the largest medical aid administrators in the country. This development will house approximately 2,000m2 of office space that will be made available for both sale and leasing.
Furthermore, Demushuwa Property Developers still owns a wide variety of vacant properties for retail, offices and recreational uses.
