Charity, community work: Precious Andre

Michaiyla Hansen
While still in school, Precious Andre (17), the reigning Miss Teen Universe Namibia and Miss Teen Walvis Bay 2023, also runs a small part-time art business called Heaven Paints, which collaborates with charities and nonprofit organisations in Walvis Bay. In addition to her business activities, Precious dedicates time to volunteer work and donating clothing and food to those in need.

"My mother taught me the importance of helping those in need from a young age," she said. This early lesson motivated her to get involved in philanthropic activities and strive to make a difference in her community.

Motivated to help

Andre has been involved in philanthropic activities since she was seven years old. She enjoys knowing that her efforts can make a difference in the lives of those she helps. Over the years, her passion for philanthropy has grown stronger and become more visible to those who follow her online.

The support of family and friends keeps her motivated.

Winning Miss Teen Walvis Bay in 2023 provided her with a platform and a voice to advocate for her community.

This role introduced her to individuals who share her vision and helped her realise the impact she can make through pageantry.

Since winning Miss Teen Universe Namibia, her commitment to philanthropy has deepened.

"I encourage young people to advocate for their beliefs and recognise that their voices matter," she said. She believes that no act of kindness is too small and that individual efforts can create a ripple effect of positive change.

Precious advises surrounding oneself with supportive individuals who share similar visions. She is continually striving to learn and grow from her experiences.
