Specialist urologist
Dr TJ Ndemuula
A urologist is a medical specialist who specialises in disorders affecting the urinary tract in men, women, and children, as well as diseases affecting the reproductive system. Dr TJ Ndemuula treats patients of all ages on a daily basis, including babies, adolescents, adults, and the elderly, both male and female.
He diagnoses and treats people with various illnesses, either through medicine or surgery, including cystitis, hypospadias, urethral stricture, bladder cancer, prostate cancer, urinary bladder stones and kidney stones.
A urologist is a doctor who has completed an undergraduate medical degree and has gone on to specialise in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases or ailments affecting the urinary system and male reproductive organs.
He has his own private practice in Oshakati (Muula Health Care Centre) and also works in the theatre at the Oshakati State Hospital.
Urologists are in short supply and in high demand in Namibia.
This is what prompted his decision to specialise in urology, where he felt he could have the greatest impact due to the country's small number of urologists at the time, particularly in the north.
