YouTuber: Eben-Ezer Matheus

Michaiyla Hansen
Eben-Ezer Matheus, a dynamic and passionate YouTuber, embarked on her digital journey three years ago, inspired by the vibrant community of content creators she admired.

From the very start, she felt a deep connection to the YouTube culture, perceiving herself as part of a larger family. This sense of belonging fuelled her desire to make her own unique space within the YouTube universe, immersing herself in the platform's rhythm and 'lingo'.

Over the past three years, Matheus' channel has blossomed, capturing the attention and hearts of viewers with her authentic and engaging content, and earning her a following of over 2 000 subscribers.

She sees the steady growth of her channel as not only a testament to her hard work, but also what keeps her motivated to continue creating.

This journey has been a learning experience, teaching her the importance of balancing content creation with her personal and academic life, she said.

Currently, Matheus is a final-year nursing student, a demanding commitment that has necessitated a temporary hiatus from her YouTube activities. Recognising the importance of her academic pursuits, she has chosen to focus on her studies, demonstrating her ability to prioritise and manage her time effectively.

Despite this break, she maintains a presence in the YouTube community, offering valuable advice and encouragement to aspiring content creators.

Matheus said she's a firm believer in the mantra "just start".

She advised newcomers not to be hindered by the quality of their phone cameras, emphasising that good lighting and a pleasant background can make a significant difference.

Her philosophy is that content creation should first and foremost be enjoyable for the creator; this genuine enjoyment will naturally attract and resonate with viewers, she said.
