With the new Ford Everest Platinum and Wildtrack being the talk of the town, Ford has not wasted any efforts with its new accessories.

From electronics to interior and exterior add-ons, Ford always prevails. Every single Ford part and accessory is designed and manufactured to comply with Ford’s engineering and testing standards, which is reassuring when you’re on the road. Ford is the expert in delivering the correct parts and accessories.

Must-have accessories

The first accessory you should add to your Ranger is a bull bar.

Not only does a bull bar increase your protection and provide a mounting platform for accessories, but it’s also great to look at. Bull bars are critical to ensuring you are further protected from animal strikes.

The load lid is also a very handy and stylish accessory.

It is a hard lid made completely from aluminum, so it’s super strong yet still lightweight.

Being made from aluminium means it can support a load on top of up to 200 kg, which means you can carry twice as much gear because anything that's too big to fit under the lid can be carried on top of the hard-wearing aluminium surface.

Speaking of electronic add-ons, the auxiliary switchboard on the overhead console makes after-market customisation easier with six pre-wired switches connected to the power distribution box.

Each circuit is individually fused for the connection of electrical accessories. The switches are labelled AUX 1 through AUX 6. They only operate when the ignition is in the "on" position, whether the engine is running or not. It is recommended that you leave the engine running to maintain battery charge when using the switches for an extended time or when using high-current accessories. When a switch is turned on, the indicator light on the switch illuminates, and the circuit provides power to the device wired to that switch.

Eugene Engelbrecht, a Novel Ford sales consultant, said: "We have a lot of accessories that we are waiting for, and the J-Brace is one I would recommend to everyone who has a Ford bakkie."

He said the J-Brace is designed to provide extra support for mounting a canopy to the tub.

"It is a requirement from Ford that any 2022 Ranger fitted with a canopy must have a J-Brace strengthening kit installed."

For the new Ford Ranger, the canopies are already available for purchase, while the aluminium canopies are set to arrive towards the end of February.

Ford lovers have a lot to be excited about as more exterior, interior, and electronic accessories are on the way.
