Otjiwarongo bragging in Orange

For over 40 years Metro Cash ‘n Carry traded in a 1 200 square meters store in Otjiwarongo. On 12 April 2022 all this changed, and shoppers were invited to enjoy various opening specials and a brand new building. The fresh new Metro is 2 400 square meters in size and 9 meters high, double its previous size and ample parking for its customers. Shoppers will never be disappointed with low stock levels, lack of variety or by overcrowding with 18 till points and focused service.

“We started with eight staff in the store, and now we are proud to say we have 54 members in the team,” says regional manager Vic Goosen.

With Covid-19 affecting not only the nation but also development, the planning of this building took 18 months.

With all external challenges, they are proud of this achievement, and look forward to Metro Liquor opening its doors in mid-2022.

The opening day was met with extreme excitement from the Otjiwarongo community.

With more than 15 exhibitors from the industry that had additional competitions and promotions for shoppers to reward their shopping, the Metro team was also part of a food parcel handover to the Omake Charity Organisation.

“None of this would have been possible without our loyal shoppers and we thank you for your continued support.”
