Kraatz Engineering's 2023 apprenticeship intake announced
This year marks the 12th year in which Kraatz Engineering, a subsidiary of the Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group, gives interns the opportunity to gain valuable experience and exposure in the industrial, mining and marine and offshore sectors.
The company’s apprentices undergo a structured training programme to acquire practical skills, knowledge and experience in the engineering industry.
This year’s intake will see 15 apprentices working under the guidance of experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience and gradually developing their proficiency in specific engineering disciplines.
Kraatz started its apprenticeship programme in 2011, with the goal of preparing students for the working environment by further developing their knowledge and skills.
Today, with immense pride, the company announced a remarkable achievement – over 160 apprentices have successfully completed their training through Kraatz's apprenticeship programme.
A considerable number of these apprentices, who embarked on their journey with passion and determination, have not only honed their expertise, but have also become an integral part of the Kraatz family.
Developing young Namibians in the engineering sector is not only beneficial for the individuals themselves, providing them with fulfilling career opportunities, but it also has a positive impact on the country's economic growth, technological advancement, sustainable development and vision of building a brighter and more prosperous future for all Namibians.
"In line with one of our O&L Group breakthrough behaviours – leading growth – Kraatz provides a supportive environment for growth and learning, nurturing a skilled workforce that continues to drive the company's progress," a statement read.
The company further invited motivated and talented students from all vocational training centres to apply for this sought-after opportunity to specialise and gain experience in boiler-making, welding and fitting and turning.
