Inspiring leadership and visionary strategies
The skills Martha Endjala acquired while furthering her education, along with her expertise, led her to August Twenty Six Construction.
Colonel Martha Endjala began her engineering journey with a thirst for innovation and a drive to make a lasting impact in the industry. Upon obtaining a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Namibia University of Science and Technology, she was relentless in her pursuit of excellence and wanted to go further. With that determination, she quickly climbed the corporate ladder, and subsequently obtained a master's degree in energy and sustainability from University of Cumbria in the United Kingdom. The skills she acquired along the way, paired with her seasoned expertise, led her to August Twenty Six Construction, where she has served as the managing director of the company for the past three years.
“I’ve always been fascinated by the intersection of technology and innovation, and engineering offers a perfect blend of both,” she said. Prior to this, Endjala worked for the directorate of construction and maintenance under the ministry of defence and veteran affairs, a portfolio she took on after 10 years with Fischer Budder Consulting Engineers, where she began her career.
As the managing director of August Twenty Six Construction, Endjala's responsibilities are vast.
“My job primarily involves providing sound leadership to my team and overseeing project management operations within our company.” This is inclusive of coordinating project teams, ensuring timely completion of projects, managing resources effectively and maintaining quality standards throughout the project life cycle, she outlined.
Her strategic vision and hands-on approach continue to drive August Twenty Six to new heights.
Endjala's journey has been marked by challenges, including navigating large-scale projects with tight deadlines and competing priorities. However, her successful project deliveries stand as testaments to her unwavering commitment to excellence. In addition to that, she finds joy in the midst of challenges as it contributes to her and her colleagues' growth as a unit.
“Leading my team through challenging situations and witnessing their growth and success has been immensely rewarding,” she continued. Beyond the boardroom, Endjala finds inspiration in the ever-evolving field of engineering, driven by a passion and desire to leave a lasting legacy. In her free time, she enjoys activities such as swimming, playing musical instruments as well as reading books on leadership and technology.
Looking toward the future, her hopes lie in expanding the company’s capabilities as well as exploring new markets. In addition, she is committed to mentoring the next generation of engineers, creating an atmosphere of continuous learning and development within her organisation.
As she continues her path to higher peaks of success, her journey serves as a beacon of inspiration for aspiring professionals in the field of engineering and beyond.
