The nominal value of building plans completed in Windhoek stood at N$60.1 million in June 2021 compared to N$70.6 million and N$193.4 million recorded for May 2021 and June 2020.

The composite index of building plans completed (Windhoek, Swakopmund, Walvis Bay and Ongwediva) for June 2021 increased by 10.0% on monthly basis compared to a decline of 23.1% registered in May 2021.
According to the Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA), the nominal value of the building plans completed during June 2021 amounted to N$123.0 million compared to N$111.8 million recorded in the previous month. While, the value of building plans completed for June 2020 stood only at N$236.0 million.
In Ongwediva, the building plans completed Index increased, registered a huge growth of 903.8% on a monthly basis, a significant improvement when compared a decline of 93.5% recorded a month earlier. However, on annual basis the index declined by 83.9% in June 2021.
The increase recorded month-on-month was mainly reflected in the nominal valuations of new residential units for completed buildings, NSA said.
The nominal value of building plans completed stood at N$2.4 million in June 2021 compared to N$0.2 million and N$14.7 recorded for May 2021 and June 2020, respectively. Ongwediva accounted for 1.9% of the total value of building plans completed in June 2021.
In Walvis Bay, the building plans completed index increased on monthly basis by 70.7% compared to a negative growth of 58.0% recorded in the preceding month. On annual basis, the index increased by 89.2% in June 2021.
The nominal value of building plans completed in Walvis Bay for June 2021 amounted to N$17.5 million compared to N$10.3 million and N$9.3 million recorded for May 2021 and June 2020, respectively. Walvis Bay accounted for 14.3% of the total value of building plans completed in June 2021, NSA added.
Swakopmund
In Swakopmund, the building plans completed Index registered a monthly growth rate of 40.1% in June 2021, compared to a growth rate of 41.6% recorded in the preceding month. On annual basis, the index increased by 130.7% in June 2021.
The increases recorded on month on month and year on year were mainly reflected in the nominal valuations for the new units for residential.
The nominal value of building plans completed in Swakopmund stood at N$43.0 million in June 2021 compared to N$30.7 million and N$18.6 million recorded for May 2021 and June 2020, respectively. Swakopmund accounted for 34.9% of the total value of building plans completed in June 2021, NSA pointed out.
In Windhoek, the building plans completed index for June 2021 registered a decline of 14.9% on monthly basis, when compared to a negative growth of 26.1% recorded in the preceding month. On annual basis, the index declined by 68.9% in June 2021.
The decline recorded month-on-month were mainly reflected in the nominal valuations for the boundary walls, while the decline recorded year-on-year was attributed mainly to valuations of additions and alterations.

The nominal value of building plans completed stood at N$2.4 million in June 2021 compared to N$0.2 million and N$14.7 recorded for May 2021 and June 2020, respectively. Ongwediva accounted for 1.9% of the total value of building plans completed in June 2021.
In Walvis Bay, the building plans completed index increased on monthly basis by 70.7% compared to a negative growth of 58.0% recorded in the preceding month. On annual basis, the index increased by 89.2% in June 2021.
The nominal value of building plans completed in Walvis Bay for June 2021 amounted to N$17.5 million compared to N$10.3 million and N$9.3 million recorded for May 2021 and June 2020, respectively. Walvis Bay accounted for 14.3% of the total value of building plans completed in June 2021, NSA added.
Swakopmund
In Swakopmund, the building plans completed Index registered a monthly growth rate of 40.1% in June 2021, compared to a growth rate of 41.6% recorded in the preceding month. On annual basis, the index increased by 130.7% in June 2021.
The increases recorded on month on month and year on year were mainly reflected in the nominal valuations for the new units for residential.
The nominal value of building plans completed in Swakopmund stood at N$43.0 million in June 2021 compared to N$30.7 million and N$18.6 million recorded for May 2021 and June 2020, respectively. Swakopmund accounted for 34.9% of the total value of building plans completed in June 2021, NSA pointed out.
In Windhoek, the building plans completed index for June 2021 registered a decline of 14.9% on monthly basis, when compared to a negative growth of 26.1% recorded in the preceding month. On annual basis, the index declined by 68.9% in June 2021.
