Häftlinge entflohen

Windhoek - Am Dienstagmorgen sind 14 Häftlinge aus der Polizeistation von Katima Mulilo entflohen. Wie die Polizei gestern mitteilte, handelte es sich hier um fünf namibische und neun sambische Staatsbürger. Den entflohenen Häftlingen werden unter anderem Schwerverbrechen wie Mord und Vergewaltigung vorgeworfen. Der Polizei zufolge seien die Häftlinge um drei Uhr morgens "durch eine offene Tür" entflohen.

Ferner meldete die Polizei die Verhaftung von Teresia Namholo (28) in der Ouhongo-Ortschaft in der Ohangwena-Region am Dienstagabend. Namholo soll am Vortag ihr neugeborenes Baby unter einem Baum ausgesetzt haben. Das Baby starb am Dienstag im Krankenhaus von Engela.

Erik Julius (42) wurde am Dienstagabend in Wanaheda am Gesäß verletzt als zwei Männer aus bislang unbekannten Motiven auf ein Fahrzeug in dem er mitfuhr das Feuer eröffneten.
