Intriguing sculptures of the Tsauchab
“One man's trash is another man’s treasure” is true in the case of the owner of the Tsauchab River Camp, Johan Steyn, who finds treasure in scrap metal, which dates back as far as 1911, and has been found on the property. Pieces of scrap metal are lovingly constructed into pieces of sculpture and strategically placed on the grounds of this unique and quirky camp found at the foot of the Naukluft Mountains Range. Memorabilia of times past line the walls of the lodge, while groups of hikers lounge outside in the shade of ox-wagons and acacia trees. The heart and soul of this family-run camp is inherent in every detail defining this special place. A must-see en-route to Naukluft National Park (only 40km away).
