Paris (dpa) - In der weltberühmten Kathedrale Notre-Dame in Paris ist ein Feuer ausgebrochen. Eine riesige Rauchsäule steht über einem der berühmtesten Wahrzeichen der Welt - der Pariser Kathedrale Notre-Dame. Die Polizei bestätigte den Brand, gab auf Anfrage zunächst aber keine näheren Informationen bekannt. Nach Informationen der französischen Nachrichtenagentur AFP unter Berufung auf die Feuerwehr könnte der Brand mit Renovierungsarbeiten zusammenhängen. Er sei auf dem Dachboden der Kathedrale ausgebrochen und gegen 18.50 Uhr entdeckt worden.
Die Bürgermeisterin der französischen Hauptstadt spricht von einem „fürchterlichen Brand“.
