Die Partei „Popular Democratic Movement“ (PDM) hat vergangenen Montag 200 Heuballen im Wert von 10 000 N$ an das Büro der Premierministerin (OPM) gespendet, um der unter Trockenheit leidenden Kunene-Region zu helfen. Bei der Übergabe der Ballen sagte Vipuakuje Muharukua (rechts), Vetreter der PDM, die Spende sei der erste Teil einer Initiative der Partei, bedürftige Namibier in der Kunene-Region zu unterstützen. Die zweite Phase beinhalte laut Muharukua Spenden von Nahrung und anderen Artikeln des täglichen Bedarfs. Während der Großteil Namibias von guten Regenfällen profitierte, gibt es Gebiete in den Regionen Kunene, Erongo und Omusati, in denen die Regenzeit unterdurchschnittlich stark ausfiel.
