Tito Mboweni ist verstorben
Dr. Tito Mboweni, der erste nicht-weiße Gouverneur der Südafrikanischen Zentralbank (SARB) in der Zeit nach der Apartheid, ist im Alter von 65 Jahren verstorben. Wie die Familie mitteilte, ist Mboweni (im Bild rechts) gestern Abend nach kurzer Krankheit in einem Johannesburger Krankenhaus verstorben. Als Gouverneur der SARB hatte er 1999 die Nachfolge von Chris Stals angetreten, nachdem er zuvor im ersten Kabinett Nelson Mandelas, nach der politischen Wende in Südafrika, gedient hatte.
