Bank Windhoek’s Red Run set for August

The Bank Windhoek Red Run, previously known as the Bank Windhoek Relay, is gearing up to be an unforgettable, dynamic, and exhilarating event. Organized in collaboration with the /Ae //Gams Sports Club and Bank Windhoek, this event is set for 10 August 2024 in Windhoek, starting at Zoo Park. This action-packed day promises to challenge participants with distances of five kilometres (km), ten km, 21.1 km, and 42.2 km.

The Bank Windhoek Red Run will be a timed event, with a strict cut-off finish time at 11:00. Distances will be precisely measured and marked, featuring multiple water points along the various routes. Additionally, the event will host a variety of vendors providing nutritious food and drinks for participants.

Bank Windhoek’s Executive Officer for Marketing and Corporate Communication Services, Jacqueline Pack, announced that the fastest participants in each distance stand a chance to win their share of N$60,000 in prize money. All participants who complete their race will also receive a medal. Pack highlighted the Red Run's demonstration of Bank Windhoek’s commitment to health and fitness, aiming to positively impact the local community. “Bank Windhoek and /Ae //Gams Sports Club’s partnership for this event further highlights the Bank’s active involvement in being Connectors of Positive Change for local organizations while journeying with people of all ages. Lace up your running shoes and get ready for an actively rewarding day,” she said.

Donovan Majiedt from the /Ae //Gams Sports Club expressed excitement for the Red Run, eager to connect with other fitness enthusiasts. “Join us for a day filled with exciting warm-ups and sport-related activities. If you are attending to support your friends and family, this is also a great atmosphere. We are excited that this collaboration will be a huge milestone for the Club,” he said.

The deadline for entries is Wednesday, 31 July 2024, with entry payments due by Friday, 2 August 2024, at 19:00. Registered participants who have paid the entry fee can collect their race numbers and e-tags on Friday, 9 August 2024, from 11:00 to 18:00 at Zoo Park. The first 500 paid participants will receive a Bank Windhoek Red Run t-shirt.
