German clubs to contest Cohen's tourney

The annual international tournament hosted by Cohen Fistball Club (CFC) will take place at its grounds in Sean McBride Street in Olympia on Saturday.
Three teams from Germany will be taking part in the competition as they aim to impress on foreign soil.
The national under 19 men and senior women’s teams will also be participating in the cup tournament, which is intended to serve as a final match preparation before their departure to the World Championships in Chile and Argentina, respectively.
The first matches of the prestigious tournament will start at 08:30.
In the A category, the guests teams from TSV Grafenau of Bavaria, two U18 national teams and two teams from the host club Cohen will battle it out in a round robin format.
The newly crowned league champions, Cohen 1, aim to put the domestic CFC Cup back in their showcase after three titles so far this season, while attempting to keep their mission of the quintuple alive.
Last year, Swakopmund’s SFC 1 was able to take home the trophy with the support of German national player Johannes Jungclaussen.
Strong competition is however expected from TSV Grafenau from the German state of Bavaria.
It remains to be seen what shape the national U19 team will be in just before competing in the World Championships in Chile in a month.
With the teams competing in the A category, fistball of the highest quality is expected.
The B category is divided into two groups, each with four teams.
TuS Eicklingen from northern Germany is expected with two teams, while SKW is competing with its Old Crocks, a youth A and youth B team.
All matches in the round-robin format in the A category and the preliminary round in the B category are played according to time.
The first-placed team in the A category plays against the fourth in the first semi-final, while the second plays against the third in the second semi-final.
“The two best teams in the B category compete against the two best from the other group in the semi-final.
“The semi-finals and the match for third place will be played by two sets, while the final will be played to three sets,” Fistball Namibia spokesperson Helmo Minz explained.
