/Goagoses lauds league progress

As the MTC Namibia Netball League gets closer to its completion, the president of Netball Namibia, Rebecca /Goagoses, expressed satisfaction with the progress so far and urged players to give it their best.

/Goagoses said every single match from now on is crucial in deciding the championship and critical for all the teams – either for survival or to be the ultimate winner.

“Indeed one can comfortably say the tides are changing. Two weeks ago, we had the inaugural champions (Namibian Navy) leading and finding the defending champions Mighty Gunners trailing.

“Young Stars and Otjozondjupa Nampol are slowly showing their growth on the log, whereas Tigers lost to Rebels. The teams at the bottom are telling us that it’s not over until it’s over – the fighting spirit is back.

“We are spoiled with excitement. To all the teams – keep on showing your real character on court, remain disciplined. The MTC Namibian Netball League is not just business as usual,” she added.

Last weekend’s matches were played at the Vooruit Primary School courts in Otjiwarongo.

• Saturday’s results were as follows:

Tigers 40-46 Rebels

Namibian Navy 51-33 Northern Fly Ballers

Mighty Gunners 46-32 Wanderers

Afrocat Lions 46-32 Rebels

Otjozondjupa Nampol 57-21 Eleven Arrows

• Sunday:

Namibian Navy beat Afrocat Lions 34-32.

Mighty Gunners beat Northern Fly Ballers 54-28.

Mighty Gunners beat Eleven Arrows 48-36.
