With only the men’s and women’s finals remaining this Saturday, PstBet founder Steve Hamunyela has hailed this season’s PstBet NFA Cup as a success so far.
Hamunyela has praised all clubs from every region in the country that has competed in the tournament.
He feels the tournament has changed its dynamics and that contributed towards its success.
Windhoek giants African Stars and Karasburg’s pride Young Brazilians will play in the men’s final, while Ongos Ladies and Khomas Nampol Ladies play in the women’s final at the Independence Stadium.
“The tournament has been a great success, with teams from all 14 regions and over 200 teams in action.
“This demonstrates why the PstBet NFA Cup is the premier cup in Namibia.
“For the first time, we will have the final matches for men and women on the same day,” Hamunyela said.
The tournament’s 2024 finale will also see the respective bronze finals being played.
Hamunyela has encouraged fans to come in their numbers to watch the cream of Namibian knockout football.
“All football enthusiasts are urged to come and witness the best final ever in the land of the brave.”
Football fans have expressed excitement and some say they will travel from all corners of the country to witness the final.
"I am coming all the way from Karasburg to watch my team Young Brazilians play. They have really impressed in the top-flight and we can just admire their commitment,” Franco Jacobs said.
African Stars fans are also excited about the prospect of adding more silverware to their back-to-back Debmarine Premier League titles.”"I think it has been a great season for our team and right now we can only see good prospects.
“I don’t think we must underestimate Young Brazilians, because I know they can perform.
“But I am also confident that African Stars are league champions and can produce a top match,” Mike Kavetuna said.
Performances by musicians Jaliza, One Blood, Tboss and Staika will add to the occasion.
