The fourth edition of the popular Harders Cup was officially launched at a lavish gala dinner in Lüderitz recently and will be held from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September 2024.

What had started out as a Lüderitz based soccer tournament has now grown regional with 20 teams from the NFA’s southern stream competing.

Prize money for this event has been doubled, making it one of the biggest football events in Namibia with N$420 000 in prize money.

The winning team will receive N$200 000, while the silver medallists will take home a cool N$100 000. The team that finishes third in the tournament will be compensated with bronze medals and N$50 000. The fourth-placed teams will also not go home empty-handed (N$30 000), while the top goal-scorer and player of the tournament will each receive a handy N$20 000.

All teams will receive a brandnew pair of kit for their participation in order for them to look cool and colourful.

Every year the Harders Cup gives one deserving student a bursary.

As usual the event will conclude with the much anticipated Harders Music Bash that will see more than ten artists on stage.

“This year’s event will be delivered at a total budget of N$1.7 million,” the founder of the event, Tim Ekandjo, said.

The gala dinner raised an amount of N$320 000 in pledges with its founder Tim Ekandjo and Debmarine each pledging N$100 000, followed by Seaflower and Namdeb with N$50 000 each and the Mayoral Fund and Naftal Trading each N$10 000.

For spectators, entry to the Harders Cup will be free of charge.
