Namibia's First Representative at the FIVB International Referee's Candidate Course

Namibia's volleyball community is abuzz with pride as Mr. Fillemon Amupadhi, a distinguished national referee, embarks on a historic journey to the FIVB International Referee's Candidate Course (IRRC). Organized by the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB), this prestigious event is set to unfold at the Institut Royal de Formation des Cadres Mly Rachid in Sale, Morocco, spanning from July 7th to July 15th, 2024.



Mr. Amupadhi's selection as the sole representative from Namibia among 25 referees hailing from 21 African nations marks a watershed moment for volleyball in the country. His departure for Morocco over the weekend was met with accolades and high expectations from the Namibia Volleyball Federation (NVF) and the broader sports community.



Hillary Dux Imbuwa, President of the NVF, expressed profound pride in Mr. Amupadhi's achievement, highlighting its significance beyond personal success. "We are incredibly proud of Mr. Fillemon Amupadhi's selection to the FIVB International Referee's Candidate Course. This is not only a personal achievement for him but also a monumental step for the development of volleyball in Namibia," President Imbuwa emphasized. He further stressed the course's potential to elevate Namibian volleyball standards and foster international recognition of Namibian talent.



The NVF's strategic objectives align closely with Mr. Amupadhi's participation, aiming to enhance refereeing standards and promote the sport's growth nationwide. His attendance at the IRRC symbolizes Namibia's increasing prominence on the global volleyball stage and underscores the federation's commitment to nurturing local talent.



As Mr. Amupadhi immerses himself in intensive training and learning alongside peers from across Africa, hopes are high for him to return with invaluable knowledge and experience. His journey is not just a personal milestone but a catalyst for future advancements in Namibian volleyball, embodying the spirit of excellence and aspiration within the NVF and the nation at large.
