The Namibia Football Association (NFA) has called on the 16 Debmarine Premier League contesting clubs to renew their annual membership with the association.

Charles Siyauya, the general secretary of the NFA, instructed the chairpersons of the clubs to complete and submit the necessary forms on or before 16 August in a communiqué issued on 7 August.

“Article 4.1 of the NFA rules and regulations directs all members to renew their membership according to the set criteria and regulations annually. The said article directs the leagues to supply the clubs/members with listed documents two weeks before the first registration day in line with Article 11 of the NFA Statues. These include application forms, club licensing checklist, declaration application and financial agreement.”

Rule 6.2 requires that member clubs submit their application to the leagues through the secretariat, together with proof of payment of the prescribed fee as determined from time to time by the Executive Council.

The required documents include a copy of the club’s legally valid constitution; a list of officials specifying who are authorized signatories with the right to enter into legally binding agreements with third parties; a copy of the minutes of the last congress or Annual General Meeting, and various compliance declarations. Club officials and players must also sign the NFA Code of Conduct and submit copies.

Siyauya said the issue of club licensing will be addressed upon the commencement of the licensing process. The NFA already announced that the football season 2024/2025 has started on 17 July 2024 and will conclude on 29 June 2025, with the first window for registrations set from 17 July to 11 September 2024.

The promoted and relegated clubs to and from the NPFL were also confirmed on 2 August.
