Pro-Ed take U/19 Capricorn league win

The Capricorn Group Schools Netball League continued over the past weekend at the Windhoek High School netball courts in Windhoek, with the coastal visitors Pro-Ed Academy emerging as a new favourite in the U/19 division.

Pro-Ed managed a win against Rehoboth High School, bringing the match to a close with 33 goals in their favour and nine in favour of their opponents.

Newcomers Walvis Bay Gymnasium were unable to manage a victory in the U/15 division against Gobabis Gymnasium, but put up a strong fight with a score of 22–33 in favour of Gobabis Gymnasium at the final buzzer.

In the same age division, Windhoek Gymnasium managed a stellar victory against Keetmanshoop Private School with a final score of 47-9 at the end of the match.

Big matches

The Windhoek High School U/17 managed to hold it down against Ella Du Plessis Secondary School, taking victory with a final score of 31-9. The Ella Du Plessis Secondary School U/19 team managed to secure their place in the finals of the Capricorn Group Schools Netball League last year, managing second place in the league with a score of 23-30 against the Windhoek Gymnasium Black Diamonds in the final match.

In the same age category, Windhoek Afrikaans Private School were victorious against their eager competitors, Keetmanshoop Private School, with a closing score of 18-8.

The Capricorn Group Schools League will henceforth take a break of nearly two months before the league reconvenes on 29 July.

Thereafter, this showcase of Namibian school netball will continue throughout August before the two-day round of finals concludes on 26 August.
