Over the weekend, the FNB Augustineum Basketball Court hosted the conclusion of the youth basketball league, which began in May.
The tournament featured teams from various age groups, both boys and girls, who competed fiercely for the championship titles.
U14 Girls: In a dominant performance, Windhoek International School (WIS) overpowered Deutsche Höhere Privatschule (DHPS) with a final score of 44-0. The WIS team showcased their skills and teamwork, leaving no room for DHPS to get on the scoreboard.
U14 Boys: The boys' U14 category saw DHPS A face off against their school counterparts, DHPS B. DHPS A delivered an impressive performance, winning 61-8, highlighting the depth of talent within the DHPS basketball program.
U16 Girls: Windhoek International School (WIS) once again displayed their strength in the U16 girls' category, defeating DHPS 40-6. Their consistent offensive and defensive play ensured a decisive victory.
U16 Boys: In a tightly contested match, Deutsche Schule Swakopmund (DSSW) edged out St. Georges with a final score of 46-37. The game was intense, with both teams battling hard, but DSSW managed to pull ahead in the final quarter.
