Van Wijk wins Multisave Monthly Medal

Wouter van Wijk emerged as the winner of the Walvis Bay Golf Club’s last Multisave Medal for the year.
Van Wijk shot a 68 nett and won by three shots against Sam Nell on 71, who won a count-out against Bertus Venter (71). The best gross score went to Kyle Johnson on 73.
The best stableford points on the day were 37 by Thomas Wolff with Willie Venter in second place, one shot back on 36.
Two-clubs were registered by Sam Nell, Jonas Niilenge Amandio and Wouter (twice).
Amandio Sardinha confirmed Multisave will be back next year to sponsor the series of medal events at the Walvis Bay club.
The Multisave Medal Mania also concluded last weekend. With the first and second places already determined it was game on for the third place. At the end the team of Desert Rats consisting of Nardo Sardinha, Koot Potgieter, Roche Pitout and Pedro Fernandes finished on 54 points – a clear seven ahead of the second-placed JWM Wednesday School team consisting of Shane Westerdale, Christo Muller, Attie van der Westhuizen and Jens Paschke.
The third place went to the Young Guns of Kyle and JP Johnson and Emery and Emilio Maboh on 36.5 points.
• This coming Saturday, Walvis Bay Golf Club welcomes a new sponsor in Plastic Packaging. The format will be a better-hole individual stableford, with one bonus hole to be drawn after the round.
The WBGC leg of the national Sages scheduled for 13 and 14 December will be sponsored by Old Mutual. Entries for the Sages must be done on the golf portal.
• Due to circumstances beyond its control, the Namibia Amateur Golf Union (NAGU) has postponed the Gold Cup to 30 November and 1 December 2024.
