Bahnrad: Friedrich holt Silber im Sprint-Finale

Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (dpa) - Lea Sophie Friedrich hat zum Abschluss der olympischen Bahnrad-Wettbewerbe im Sprint die Silbermedaille gewonnen. Die 24-Jährige unterlag bei den Wettkämpfen im Velodrome von Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines im Finale gegen die Neuseeländerin Ellesse Andrews. Zuvor hatte sie sich im Halbfinale gegen die Niederländerin Hetty van de Wouw durchgesetzt.Friedrich holt damit die erste deutsche Einzelmedaille im Radsport seit Kristina Vogel, die 2016 in Rio de Janeiro in der Königsdisziplin Sprint Gold gewonnen hatte. Für Friedrich ist es die zweite Medaille bei den Sommerspielen in Paris. Im Teamsprint war sie mit Emma Hinze und Pauline Grabosch zu Bronze gefahren. Hinze schied im Sprint-Viertelfinale.
